The Home of Scholars and Champions! Our goal is to ensure that all WESM scholars graduate college prepared, college confident and career ready. Our core mission is to engage students in learning experiences that are anchored to scientific inquiry and focus on creating solutions to real-life local and global challenges that impact our world.
WESM currently offers three magnet programs: Gifted/High Achieving/Highly Gifted STEAM Magnet, Health & Sports Medicine Magnet, and Environmental & Natural Sciences Magnet. All WESM scholars participate in a full A through G course of study that prepares them to become competitively eligible to apply to the CSU system, UC system and private colleges/universities.
WESM co-curricular and enrichment opportunities are strengthened through our partnerships with  UCLA-LAUSD Collaborative, Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Upward Bound, MESA (Mathematics, Engineering and Science Achievement), Microsoft TEALS (Technology Education and Literacy in Schools) and Team HEAL (Helping to Enrich Athletes Lives).
WESM also offers a robust, competitive sports program that is widely recognized at the city, state and national level.
